Chapter 11 Poems

Family Photo:

Pen to his lips

Papers in his hand

Music on his mind

But nobody knows

What he is really focused on

Negative thoughts fill his head

But he will not expose his thoughts

Because his brother is gone

And a sadness develops

It will not be overcome

So he writes him a poem

Though it will never be read

An innocent man

Trapped in a nightmare

Falls head first

Into a new dimension

A difficult decision

But either leads to death

Though he plunges towards Earth

He is suspended forever

He is a mystery

Yet widely known

He will not understand my anger

For I do not know him

The last time America came together

Came together for him

A Poet Who Doesn't Know It

The figurative language I found was:
"The road was a ribbon of moonlight" is a metaphor. This describes a long road that is only lit by moonlight.
"Over the cobbles he clattered and clashed" is both an alliteration and onomatopoeia.  It repeats words that start with the letter C and "clattered" and "clashed" could be used as words describing a sound.
"Dumb as a dog" is a simile. It compares something's intelligence to that of a dogs by using the word "as"
"His eyes were hollows of madness" is a metaphor. It is comparing his eyes to that of dark hollows.
The two poems are quite different. In the first poem, the author uses figurative language to describe separate details throughout their work. In the second poem, they only speak of the girl as a bullet without actually mentioning her.

Amazingly tall

Extremely blue eyes

Eating's my passion
In leggings or sweatpants most of the time
Cool blue eyes and sometimes wears glasses
Hungry, helpful and caring
Helpings of cereal is my diet
Often sarcastic-not always-but most of the time
Love the nickname "Katie Enchilada"
Zebras have stripes
